What is the reason for the loud noise of electric vehicle chargers?

Why is the charger noisy when charging your own electric car? How to solve this problem, in fact, there are three reasons, let's explain in detail now.

1. The cooling fan bearing is short of oil

If the charger's cooling fan bearing is short of oil, when the charger is working, the fan will generate noise due to rotation and friction. In this regard, users only need to disassemble the charger, find the cooling fan bearing, and add lubricating oil to solve the problem of high charging noise. However, it should be noted that if the bearing rusts, the rust must be removed first.

2. The surrounding temperature is too high to dissipate heat

Second, what we need to know is that when an electric car is charging, it will generate a lot of heat, and then the fan will start to run to ensure heat dissipation. At this time, if the electric vehicle is charged in a high-temperature environment, it will cause the charger's cooling fan to rotate faster, which will not only increase the noise, but also may burn the charger. In this regard, users only need to park the car in a cool place to charge, and try to control the charging time as much as possible to prevent overcharging to solve the problem of loud noise.

3. The charger component falls off

The malfunction of the charger itself may cause the noise to become louder. Why do you say that? When the charger has parts falling off, its charging parameters change, the charging voltage is uneven, the charger heats up, the cooling fan rotates abnormally, and noise is generated. For such problems, it is generally not recommended to reconnect the components, but it is recommended to directly replace the charger with a new one.

All in all, when charging an electric car, if the charger is noisy, it is generally caused by the above three reasons. For users, no matter what the reason is, they must take appropriate measures to solve the problem in time to avoid damage to the battery. For the maintenance of electric car chargers, I have a few suggestions: try not to carry the charger with the car, so as not to cause the parts to fall off due to vibration; it is better to choose a ventilated place for charging electric cars; control the charging time in summer within 8 hours, and charge in winter The time is controlled within 10 hours; do not mix chargers, so that one car is charged.
